Our Story

Elgenio was founded in 2016 by Darren Mann and Chris Cameron with a simple aim: to provide practical, solution focussed engineering support to the offshore energy industry.

From the outset, the business was built around the idea that engineering decisions should be considered in the context of the whole project, rather than optimising individual disciplines in isolation.

Since then, Elgenio has grown into a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy supporting operators, contractors and service companies across Oil & Gas, subsea construction, decommissioning and renewable energy projects.

Our team brings together experience across analysis, structural and mechanical design, project engineering, offshore operations and draughting. This combination allows us to support projects from concept and FEED through detailed design, fabrication, mobilisation and offshore execution.

Our Approach

Solution Focussed Engineering

We approach engineering problems by first understanding the wider project, its constraints and the interfaces between disciplines.

A structurally efficient design is not always the best project solution if it is difficult to fabricate, expensive to mobilise or impractical to install offshore. By considering analysis, design, fabrication, transportation, vessel integration and offshore execution together, we can develop solutions that are technically robust while remaining practical and balanced.

This whole-project perspective helps us challenge unnecessary complexity, identify opportunities to simplify engineering and support better project decisions.

Clear communication is central to how we work. We aim to work closely with clients and project teams, providing practical engineering input that can be carried through from initial concept to offshore execution.

Based in Aberdeen and supporting projects internationally, Elgenio remains focused on delivering dependable engineering solutions for the offshore industry.
